How a Full Round of Tongits Actually Works

Tongits is played by three players using a standard 52-card deck. The dealer gets 13 cards; the other two get 12 each. On your turn, you draw from the stockpile or the discard pile, then drop one card. The goal is to meld all your cards into valid sets or sequences and reduce your deadwood — the unmatched cards left in your

hand. A player wins by going out with zero deadwood, calling Tongits, or forcing a Fight when the stockpile runs dry. Card values matter for scoring: face cards are worth 10 points each, numbered cards at face value, and aces at one point. Lower deadwood total wins a Fight round.

HOW WE RUN THIS

Fair Play Standards for Tongits at uuvip8

Verified Card Shuffle Logic

The deck shuffle in every Tongits round uses a certified random number generator. No card sequence is predetermined, and no player gets a stacked hand.

Transparent Scoring Display

Deadwood counts and final scores are shown on screen at the end of every round so you can verify the result against the cards that were played.

Consistent Rule Enforcement

The same Tongits ruleset applies to every table and every session. We do not alter meld requirements, Fight conditions, or card values between rounds or sessions.

Round Replay Availability

Disputed rounds can be reviewed through your account history log. The full hand record — draws, drops, melds laid down — is stored and accessible from your session summary.

Tongits Glossary — Terms Every Player Should Know

01
What is a meld in Tongits?

A meld is a valid combination of cards laid face-up on the table. It is either a set of three or four cards of the same rank, or a sequence of three or more cards in the same suit.

02
What does deadwood mean in Tongits?

Deadwood refers to the unmatched cards remaining in your hand that have not been placed into any meld. Lower deadwood totals are better — they determine the winner in a Fight round.

03
What is a Fight in Tongits?

A Fight is called when the stockpile runs out and at least one player has laid down a meld. All active players compare their deadwood totals, and the lowest total wins the round.

04
What does calling Tongits mean?

Calling Tongits means a player has emptied their entire hand into valid melds with zero deadwood remaining. This is an immediate win, provided no opponent successfully challenges the call.

05
What is a sapaw in Tongits?

Sapaw is when you add your cards onto an existing meld on the table — either your own or another player's. It is a valid play that helps reduce your deadwood count during the round.

06
What is the burn card in Tongits?

The burn card is the first card removed from the deck before dealing begins. It is set aside face-down and does not enter play, preventing any player from knowing the deck's first card in advance.

Tongits Rules — Frequently Asked Questions

The dealer starts with 13 cards. The two non-dealer players each receive 12 cards. The remaining cards form the stockpile that players draw from during the round.

No. To call a Fight, you must have at least one meld on the table. If you have zero melds down when the stockpile runs out, you cannot initiate or participate as the Fight winner.

When two players tie on deadwood count in a Fight, the player who did not initiate the Fight is generally declared the winner. Check the specific table rules on your session screen for confirmation.

You can draw from the discard pile, but only the top card is available and only if you can immediately use it in a valid meld. You cannot draw it to hold in your hand without playing it.

Yes. Tongits loads through the uuvip8 mobile browser without needing a separate download. You can pick up a hand during a break and return to the same session from a different device later.

Face cards — Jack, Queen, King — each count as 10 points of deadwood. Numbered cards count at their face value. Aces count as 1 point. Lower total deadwood is always the goal.
